February 21st and February 22nd 2012

Friday night was the official launch of the Sebastopol Independent Documentary Film Festival’s open ticket buying period. Our sponsored film: Urban Roots will play on Saturday March 31st at 4:30 in the afternoon. Please join us and buy your ticket EARLY. There is a chance that if there is high demand for a film it could be shown twice. The film is about how many citizens of Detroit are using the vacant lots to grow food for their families and community.
Be Well,
Jennifer Branham

Note from Spiral Foods Cooperative: Much thanks to Laguna Farm for the ongoing partnership with Spiral Foods Co-op and for generously hosting our successful farmer/producer network gathering on Feb. 7th! Together, we can all bring about Spiral Foods’ vision of a community-driven marketplace and food hub (including a commercial kitchen and café) that supports local farms and features local, sustainable food with minimal packaging. With the backing of a strong board of directors, volunteers, and grant funding, we are conducting a market research study and gathering the grassroots support and funding we need with 1,000 member-owners to open currently Sonoma County’s only food co-op, here in West County! Please join us at www.spiralfoods.coop, bring a friend to our monthly potluck this Sunday Feb. 26th from 11am-2pm, and look for our brochure this week in your CSA boxes. This can be your co-op, too!

The Right To Know Campaign: Petitions and training sessions are available through the “Right to Know” campaign. We are trying to gather signatures for the November Ballot that requires food producers to label GMO foods. We believe you have the right to know and can proudly say that Laguna Farm is a NO GMO zone, so rest assured. Let’s have that same information available for all the food you eat.

Volunteers Needed: Laguna Farm is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s festival on the farm. We are calling it “Laguna Fest” and plan on a rockin’ good time on the 14th of July. Let us know if you would like to participate!
