Dam Nation

July 11th at 7:00 pm
Laguna Farm is a proud sponsor of The Best of the Fest where Dam Nation, the Audience Award Winner is being re-played for those who may have missed it in March.  Watch the trailer and join us at the movies!

Summer Specials
Laguna Farm is working with Crop-Mobster to alert the community about some deals and specials we are offering.  Check out our Fermentation Kit and our Pickle Canning Kit.  We still have bulk basil available for pre-order in the farm store and soon we will have tomatoes in bulk!

Juice or Produce box add-on option
Laguna Fresh Produce
Are you getting a weekly produce box and want another one added on?  Would you like a juice box in addition to your produce box? You can order an additional box here.  The advantage to going this route is that delivered boxes will not have a double delivery fee.
Laguna Farm Juice Box
If you would like to get a juice box instead of a produce box, we can switch your box over.  Just give us a call.  Many members are opting to get a produce box one week and a juice box the next week.

Laguna Farm Happenings!

Dear Members,

Every now and then it is important to review our offerings at the farm so the new members as well as some of you experienced CSA folks can know what is available.
1.  Your farm pick up box is available after 1:00 on your pick up day and  up until 9:00 on Saturday.  If you don’t come before Saturday, the farm is closed on Sunday, but you can call 823-0823 before Monday 9am and we will save it for you.
2.  Your Neighborhood pick up box should be picked up on your delivery day.  If you know you can’t pick it up on that day, contact us at the farm and we will hold it so you can pick it up at the farm before 9:00 on Saturday night.
3.  The online farm store offers an array of produce, fruits, dairy, baked goods, coffee and grains.  We understand that maybe you have forgotten your password.  We are happy to set you up with a new password and walk you through the process.
Our online farm store is designed for:
A.) Delivery members who may not come to the farm stand to buy extra goodies.
B.) Farm pick up members who come when the farm stand is closed.
C.) Farm pick up members who would like first dibs on frequently sold-out items.
D.) Anyone who knows what they would like and wants to help us refine our harvest and ordering.
4.  Laguna Farm is your farm.  You never have to ask permission to walk your leashed dog along the farm paths (beware of ticks) or bring your kids out to the laguna.  We welcome your presence and if you would like to picnic under the oak tree or stroll through our growing fields, please feel welcome.
Farm Sign
5.  Coco the bunny is our free-range farm pet.  She was once in a cage, then in a hutch, then in a pen and now she is free.  Coco is about 6 years old and has been a mommy several times.  If you see her, say hi!  She is not “out” and it is not a problem that she frequents the parking lot.  Coco has ranged free for well over a year and prefers life this way.
Thank you so much for being a part of our farm community and I hope you find Laguna Farm CSA to be as diverse and accommodating as you need us to be.
Be well,
Jennifer Branham

Laguna Farm’s Turnips with Bacon

Tuesday Produce Box:
Salad mix, Broccoli, Cilantro, Carrots, Turnips, Zucchini, Collards.

There is a new culinary craze surrounding BACON and as it seems, if you add it to anything it tastes delisous.  Therefore I encourage you to try Mashed Turnips with  Bacon.  Sweet and salty and oh so good.

Thursday’s Produce Box:
Salad mix, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Carrots, Turnips, Zucchini, Chard.

A classic way to eat your collards and turnip greens are, again, with BACON!  Enjoy this recipe for Southern Greens.

Juice Boxes Contain:
2 Bunches of Carrots, Celery, Berries, Ginger, Cucumber, Plums and Kale.
Carrot juice is refreshing added with cucumber or celery.  For a warming soup, try adding ginger to your carrot juice.  It goes nicely with a fresh cucumber and tomato salad.  I like to learn more about the benefits of each vegetable.  Here is some information about the health benefits of ginger.
