Thanks to our Friends!

This year Slow Food Russian River offered their members Laguna Farm produce boxes for order during Thanksgiving week. They helped us sell 16 extra CSA boxes.  Every year, this wonderful organization works with 4H kids to sell heritage turkeys. This year they offered to work with us as well.
Slow Food is an international movement that celebrates slowing down and enjoying life through food. Coming from a time when fast and easy food was promoted, Slow Food encouraged us to roast our potatoes, bake our beans and enjoy our long-standing food traditions that were being lost.

Christmas is Coming
It is never to early to say that Laguna Farm will be CLOSED during Christmas week.  December 22nd -26th, we will be at home, warm and cozy, celebrating with our families.  We will not make boxes on Christmas week nor will we charge you for them.
During the weeks leading up to Christmas, consider local gifts for giving.  We will have a few options on our online store and here at the farm for you to consider.

Laguna Farm Happenings!
Dear Members,
We are busy in the farm store seeing many of our “Thursday” members a day early as they gather the necessary ingredients for a Thanksgiving feast.  Our farm store will be closed on Thanksgiving, though farm pick-up boxes will be available in the walk-in until Saturday night.  This week, we have listened so so many expressions of gratitude.  From the patrons at our farmers markets to the members calling in extra orders and through little notes tucked into the safe.  We even learned that we are a part of little Miss Hailey’s evening grace! Thank you for thanking us and for your many blessings.  It is truly our a pleasure being your farmer.
It is fun to think about how many meals Laguna Farm will be a part of on Thursday.  We harvested over 1,000 bunches of carrots alone this week.  I wonder, will they be roasted with parsnips and beets?  Juiced with kale and apples?  I imagine many will be consumed my favorite way… Raw.
So on behalf of Ignacio (Nacho), Victoria, Fortunato, Miguel, James, Santos, Gerardo, Sierra, Mari, Lorenzo, Diego, and everyone’s best friend Ellen, Thank you for your ongoing support of local agriculture.
Be well,
Jennifer Branham

An Invitation

Make of your kitchen a hearth where you warm and nourish your life.
Make of the sky over your town your temple where you refresh yourself daily.
Make of the people in your town your Beloved to rediscover with kindness each day.

Make of the earth of your town your own garden where you gaze with attention each day.
Make of your life a steady flame of delight.
Look around you in this moment and see
how all of this, pierces us with pain and such happiness.
