Laguna Farm Happenings!
Dear Members,
I would like to take the time to remind you that this Friday is the last day you can submit your pre-orders for Thanksgiving.  Feel free to call or e-mail us before 12:00 tomorrow to guarantee the additional items you might like to have included in your Thanksgiving box.
Our farm store will be stocked with extra goodies for the holiday season.  We will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 7:00.  We will make the Thursday boxes on Wednesday so you can pick them up or have them delivered a day early.  Our farm store will be CLOSED  on Thanksgiving, but farm pick-up boxes will be in the walk-in if you opt to not get them earlier in the week.
I know this is a lot to take in, so please contact us if you have any questions.  All of us at Laguna Farm are here to help you and your family enjoy a local Thanksgiving.

     Lastly, if you know of anyone who might like to have a local Thanksgiving, please encourage them to try out our CSA.  They can order a “one-time” Thanksgiving box and cook up the local harvest.
 Be well,

Jennifer Branham

Produce Boxes Include:
Salad mix, Beets, Parsley, Yellow Onions, Saute’ Mix, Garlic, Broccoli.
Juice Boxes Contain:
Salad mix, Chard, Turnips, Parsnips, Cabbage, Sweet Potatoes, Leeks.
Parsley Salad Recipe:  Wash and dry a large bunch of parsley. Pick the leaves, and set aside. Discard or juice the stems.
In a large bowl, whisk together 2T lemon juice, 2T lemon zest, 6T walnut oil, 2 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp honey, and salt and pepper, to taste. Add the parsley and 3T sesame seeds and toss to combine. Allow the salad to sit for at least 30 minutes before serving so that flavors meld.
T = Tablespoon, tsp = teaspoon.

Ginger Beet Juice is a warming blend that is welcome this time of year.  All the iron in the beet especially helps with fatigue.  For this warming pick-me-up, juice 1 medium orange, 3 kale leaves, 1 medium apple, 1 medium carrot, 1 large beet, 1 1-inch piece peeled fresh ginger.

     Another lovely combination that utilizes more of your juice box combines: 1 beetroot, 1 cucumber, 2 sticks of celery, 3 carrots, 1 red apple and an inch of ginger.  Go easy on the beets friends!  I know I put two bunches in your box, but if you remove the tops the root will last up to 2 weeks.  The greens are great for juicing too and do not last as long.

Share the bounty!
If you know of anyone who might like to connect with our local bounty, please forward this newsletter to them and invite them to shop in our farm store Tuesday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week.  We would love to serve your friends and out-of-town guests and make them feel welcome at your farm!
The “forward to a Friend” link is to the left.
